In a tragic accident that occurred yesterday in Pendik, Istanbul, four people in a vehicle that went under a truck lost their lives. It was reported that Vahide Kalyoncu and Özgür Yıldız, who had gone on a trip to Oman for the holiday, picked up Ayşen Yıldız Tanberk and her husband Sadi Tanberk in their car after dropping off their vehicle at the airport upon returning from their vacation, and set off for Düzce.
A car quickly entered under a truck at the Kurnaköy toll booths on the Pendik North Marmara Highway. The bodies of the 4 people who lost their lives in the accident were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution Morgue for autopsy. The bodies, for which DNA samples were taken from their relatives for identification, will be sent to Zonguldak and Düzce for burial after the procedures are completed.
The accident occurred on Saturday around 10:00 AM at the Kurnaköy toll booths on the North Marmara Highway in the direction of Ankara. According to the information obtained, a rapidly moving car with the license plate 67 SF 722 entered under a truck that had stopped to make a payment at the toll booths. Upon notification, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that Sadi Tanberk (69), Ayşen Yıldız Tanberk (73), Vahide Kalyoncu (63), and Özgür Yıldız (59) lost their lives at the scene, as they were extracted from the car by health and fire teams. The bodies in the car were removed after approximately 1 hour of work by the teams and taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution Morgue. The car, which was pulled out from under the truck, was rendered unusable.
RETURNED FROM VACATION IN OMAN
It was learned that teacher Vahide Kalyoncu (63) and teacher Özgür Yıldız (59), who went on a trip to Oman from Zonguldak Ereğli last week due to the Ramadan Bayram holiday, set out for Düzce by taking their car, along with the married couple Ayşen Yıldız Tanberk (73) and Sadi Tanberk, after returning from vacation.

On the other hand, DNA samples were taken from the relatives of the bodies taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution Morgue for autopsy for identification. It was learned that after the procedures, the body of Vahide Kalyoncu would be sent to Zonguldak, while the bodies of Sadi Tanberk and his wife Ayşen Yıldız Tanberk, along with his brother Özgür Yıldız, would be sent to Düzce. Additionally, it was learned that Özgür Yıldız and Ayşen Yıldız Tanberk are cousins of CHP Ankara deputy Okan Konuralp.
