Recently, rapper Ezhel, who has frequently been in the spotlight with his political statements and harsh remarks, became the center of discussions with a comment he made on social media. The famous figure, who settled in Germany years ago and is known for his statements on political issues, drew significant backlash with the words he wrote on a post shared on Instagram.
Commenting on a compilation post by the Instagram account named Kültürsüz, titled "Countries where the word 'Turk' appears in their national anthem," Ezhel targeted Turkey through the Greek national anthem.

The famous rapper included the following statements in his comment: Ezhel stated, "When one realizes that they have oppressed others, they can regain the power they lost in their Turkishness. These anthems were written because we took pleasure in oppression. Let us be remembered for justice. Then we will have served our nationality. Let us acknowledge our mistakes. How much further can we progress while taking pride in cutting people? As long as nobility, justice, and happiness do not come to mind when one thinks of a Turk, I am ashamed of my Turkishness. This is how it is."
Following Ezhel's statement, some social media users expressed, "It is ingratitude to eat the bread of this country and then speak like this," "We are proud to be Turkish," "This does not suit you, Ezhel."
HE HAD ALSO CAUSED CONTROVERSY IN RECENT MONTHS
In recent months, Ezhel had also been in the news due to a donation crisis he experienced with the Turkey Veterans and Martyrs Families Foundation (TÜGŞAV). After winning a defamation lawsuit, the rapper announced that he donated the compensation he received to TÜGŞAV, but he faced an unexpected response. TÜGŞAV stated, "We do not accept donations from anyone who has been in the news for supporting a divisive terrorist organization and is banned from entering the Republic of Turkey," announcing that they would return the money. The statement included, "If one day he is acquitted of the allegations against him and can enter Turkey, we would welcome him to make his donation in person to our foundation."
