Protests initiated by farmers in Greece against rising production costs and falling purchase prices have also affected the Turkish border. The Kipi Border Gate, located opposite the Ipsala Border Gate in Edirne, has been closed for hours due to Greek farmers blocking the road with tractors.

The farmer protests that have been escalating in Greece for weeks have now reached the Turkish border. Greek farmers, who are rebelling against rising production costs and low purchase prices, blocked the Kipi Border Gate with their tractors, halting crossings. No vehicles have been able to move at the gate across from Ipsala for hours.

CROSSINGS HAVE COMPLETELY STOPPED

The protest initiated by farmers in Greece against the government's agricultural policies, rising production costs, and low purchase prices has also affected the Turkish border. Farmers gathered at the Kipi Customs Gate, located across from the Ipsala Customs Gate, completely blocked the road with their tractors in the evening hours, preventing all crossings.

VEHICLE QUEUES HAVE LENGTHENED

Since 7:00 PM, it has been reported that no crossings have been possible at the border gate between the two countries. Long vehicle queues have formed along the border line since the start of the protest. Citizens and commercial vehicles wishing to cross from Turkey to Greece are waiting, while those wanting to enter Turkey from Greece are also unable to exit through the gate.

Authorities have warned drivers to use the Pazarkule-Kastanies and other alternative border gates. However, it has been stated that farmers in Greece have occasionally organized similar protests at different locations, which may lead to congestion on alternative routes as well.

The farmers are reiterating their demands for fuel support, tax reductions, lowering electricity costs, and increasing purchase prices for agricultural products. No official statement has yet been made by Greek authorities regarding when the protest will end.
