In the Gaziemir district of İzmir, a father suffering from cancer shot his daughter Feride, who was born with a disability, with a shotgun before committing suicide. It was learned that the father had recently been diagnosed with colon cancer.
Hüseyin Sayılır (63), a cancer patient who shot and killed his daughter Feride Sayılır (30), who was born with disabilities, in Gaziemir district of İzmir, committed suicide with the same gun.
KILLED HIS DISABLED DAUGHTER WITH A GUN AND COMMITTED SUICIDE
The incident occurred around 4:30 PM on 1007 Street in Menderes Neighborhood. According to allegations, retired worker Hüseyin Sayılır shot his daughter Feride Sayılır, who has physical and mental disabilities from birth, in the head with a shotgun for an undetermined reason. Hüseyin Sayılır then pointed the gun at his own head and fired.
Upon hearing the gunshots, neighbors alerted the authorities, and health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. During the examination by the health teams, it was determined that both the father and daughter had lost their lives. The bodies of the father and daughter were taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy.
FATHER HAD BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH COLON CANCER
It was learned that Hüseyin Sayılır, who had psychological issues and divorced his wife about 3 years ago, had recently been diagnosed with colon cancer. Relatives of the deceased stated that Hüseyin Sayılır was worried about who would take care of his disabled daughter if something happened to him. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
