A fire that broke out in the Karaköprü district of Şanlıurfa caused a terrible tragedy at a special care center for the disabled. A 7-year-old child could not be rescued from the thick smoke due to the fire, the cause of which is still unknown.

A 7-year-old child lost his life in a fire that broke out at a private care center for the disabled located in the Karaköprü district of Şanlıurfa.

According to the information obtained, the incident occurred at the private care center for the disabled in Batıkent Neighborhood. The fire, which broke out for an undetermined reason, quickly grew and engulfed a part of the building in dense smoke. During the fire, Poyraz Efe Öztürk, who was under care at the center, was caught in the thick smoke. Upon notification, a large number of police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. While the teams quickly evacuated those in the building, Poyraz Efe Öztürk, who was seriously injured, was taken by ambulance to Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital.

THE LITTLE BOY COULD NOT BE SAVED

The 7-year-old child, who was treated in the emergency room, unfortunately lost his life despite all the efforts of the doctors. The child's body was taken to the Şanlıurfa Forensic Medicine Institution morgue for autopsy procedures.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

In a written statement from the governor's office, it was reported that a fire broke out at the care center in the city on November 21.

In the statement, it was said, "Unfortunately, one of our children who was affected by the fire that occurred at a private care center for the disabled providing services in our province has lost his life. The judicial investigation initiated regarding the incident is ongoing. Additionally, an administrative investigation has been launched by our governor's office, and the process is being closely monitored."
