Despite the objections of the United States, the final communiqué of the G20 Leaders' Summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa, was accepted by the leaders. South African Presidential Spokesperson Vincent Magwenya stated, "We now have an accepted summit communiqué. The communiqué highlights, in particular, the four most serious conflicts in the world: the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan, Ukraine, and Palestine."

Despite the objections of the United States, the leaders of the G20 countries gathered in Johannesburg, South Africa, and issued a joint statement.

Vincent Magwenya, spokesperson for the South African Presidency, stated in a press conference at the summit that the outcome statement was accepted by the G20 leaders. Magwenya said, "We were making gradual progress towards unanimous acceptance, and now we have an accepted summit declaration. There was a small change in the agenda. Normally, the acceptance process takes place at the end, but throughout the day yesterday, during various bilateral meetings, there was a sense that the summit declaration should be accepted as the first agenda item and then move on to the rest of the day. The statement particularly emphasizes the world's four most serious conflicts: the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan, Ukraine, and Palestine."

THE STATEMENT WAS ACCEPTED ON THE FIRST DAY

The leaders of the G20 countries, including Turkey, gathered at the G20 Summit held in Johannesburg, South Africa. Vincent Magwenya, spokesperson for the South African Presidency, announced that the joint statement, which is normally expected to be accepted at the end of the summit, was accepted on the first day due to a change in the agenda.

TRUMP HAD MADE A BOYCOTT STATEMENT

U.S. President Donald Trump, in a previous statement, described the G20 Summit being held in South Africa as "a complete disgrace," stating, "Afrikaners (descendants of Dutch settlers and French and German immigrants) are being killed and slaughtered, and their land and farms are being illegally seized. As long as these human rights violations continue, no U.S. government official will attend the meeting." For this reason, the U.S. did not send a representative to the summit.
