A shooting took place at Bondi Beach in Sydney, located in the New South Wales state of Australia. Initial reports indicate that 10 people have lost their lives, and many others have been injured. It has been noted that one of the deceased is the armed assailant.
In a statement from New South Wales (NSW) Police, it was mentioned that two suspects have been detained in relation to the shooting, and residents of the area have been urged to stay away from the scene.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to our Jewish brothers in Sydney who were attacked by despicable terrorists while going to light the first candle of Hanukkah.
I just spoke with David Ossip, the President of the New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies, who was speaking at the event when the shooting began. On behalf of all the people of Israel, I conveyed our condolences to the grieving families and our prayers for the injured.
We have repeatedly called on the Australian government and society to take action and fight against the massive wave of anti-Semitism sweeping through Australia.
During this terrible time, we stand with the Jewish community in Sydney and the entire Jewish community in Australia with our prayers and condolences."
