ONE NEIGHBORHOOD EVACUATED
Upon notification, 203 personnel, 4 firefighting planes, 2 helicopters, 21 water tankers, 10 water supply vehicles, 3 first response vehicles, 16 service vehicles, 11 fire trucks, 5 bulldozers, 3 water cannons, and 3 trailers were dispatched to the area. Various public institutions and organizations are also supporting the firefighting efforts.
The gendarmerie announced in the neighboring rural Sarnıç neighborhood, where the flames are advancing, asking villagers to evacuate their homes. The residents who had to leave their homes were transferred to dormitories in the central districts of Havran and Edremit.
Balıkesir Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu also provided information about the fire and reported that the firefighting efforts are ongoing.
