A large funeral ceremony was held in Tehran for the Iranian military officials and civilians who lost their lives in the attacks carried out by Israel on June 13. The ceremony was attended by the President and many high-ranking officials, while Ali Shamkhani and Ismail Qaani, whom Israel claimed to have "killed" in the conflicts, also participated in the ceremonies.
The collective funeral ceremonies for 60 people, including Iranian high-ranking military officials, nuclear scientists, and some civilians, who lost their lives in the attacks organized by Israel on June 13, were held in Tehran, including Chief of General Staff Major General Mohammad Bakiri.
PEZEŞKİYAN AND HIGH-RANKING OFFICIALS ATTENDED
The ceremonies, which began with funeral prayers held on the campus of Tehran University in the morning, were attended by many high-ranking officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian. Those gathered at the ceremony recited prayers and elegies while holding black flags symbolizing Iran and mourning. Slogans against the USA and Israel were chanted from time to time.
NAMES ISRAEL CLAIMED TO HAVE 'KILLED' EMERGED AT THE FUNERAL
It was observed that former National Security High Council Chairman and Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's chief advisor Ali Shamkhani, who was allegedly injured in the attacks on June 13 and later died, and Quds Force Commander Major General Ismail Qaani also attended the ceremony.
The coffins, carried by a large crowd from Enghelab Square to Azadi Square, will be buried in various cities across the country, including some in Tehran.
