58-year-old former national basketball player and businessman Ediz Baksi died after falling from the balcony of his apartment on the fourth floor. While the possibility of Baksi having committed suicide is being considered, the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
In a tragic incident in Izmir, former national basketball player and businessman Ediz Baksi (58) fell from the balcony of his apartment on the fourth floor and lost his life.
FELL FROM THE BALCONY OF HIS APARTMENT ON THE FOURTH FLOOR
The incident occurred in the evening hours on 1743 Street in Donanmacı Neighborhood. Baksi, the former national basketball player and businessman, fell from the balcony of his apartment on the fourth floor for reasons yet unknown. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched. During the intervention by the medical teams, it was determined that Baksi was seriously injured, and he was taken to Izmir City Hospital by ambulance. Despite the doctors' interventions, Baksi lost his life here. While the possibility that Baksi may have committed suicide is being considered, the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
WHO IS EDIZ BAKSI?
Baksi was one of the players in the squad that won the Turkish Basketball League championship in the 1986-1987 season with Karşıyaka, and he also played for the national team. After retiring from basketball, Baksi also took on roles in the club's youth development. In addition to these, he founded and managed many establishments operating in the food sector in Izmir.
