French tennis player Quentin Folliot, who was found to have engaged in match-fixing, has caused a major shock in the sports world. Investigations revealed that Folliot manipulated matches, resulting in a 20-year ban from the sport.

BANNED FOR 20 YEARS

According to a statement from the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), Folliot was banned from the sport for 20 years and fined $70,000 for violating 27 different provisions of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program. The investigation revealed that Folliot was one of the key figures in a network of players operating on behalf of a match-fixing syndicate.

ALLEGATIONS AGAINST HIM

Allegations against the French tennis player included manipulating match outcomes, receiving money to not perform at his best for betting purposes, offering money to other players to manipulate matches, providing insider information, conspiring to commit corruption, failing to cooperate with the ITIA investigation, and destroying evidence. Folliot's provisional ban was issued on May 17, 2024, and his sentence will end on May 16, 2044. Folliot reached his career-high ATP singles ranking of 488 in August 2022.
