Galatasaray, which completed the 2024-25 season as champions, was hosted at the Complex by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The Brazilian star, whose images captured during the meal went viral on social media, humorously shared what happened.
"I WAS VERY HUNGRY, I STARTED EATING"
Gabriel Sara used the following expressions in his statement:
"I became a meme because of the food here. We had gone to see the President. Everyone was standing respectfully in front of the President. As soon as the food was brought, I started eating because I was very hungry. I didn't know I had to wait. I was supposed to wait for the President to start first."
Noting that those moments spread on social media with a video, Sara said, "There is also a video where my Turkish friend looks at me as if to say 'what are you doing?'. This spread all over Turkey."

The Brazilian footballer expressed that since that day, his teammates and fans have been joking with him, saying, "Since then, people joke with me and call me 'formigao' saying that I eat a lot. But these are nice stories. Here, I really have great moments with this team."
