A few hours after a fire broke out at a nightclub in Etiler, Istanbul, the owner of the establishment was shot and killed in an armed attack. While it has been determined that a gang committed the murder, it is being investigated whether the two consecutive incidents are connected.

On February 4th, around 06:00 in Etiler, Istanbul, chilling events occurred. According to allegations; after the customers left the venue, a person came to the front of the nightclub and poured a flammable substance at the entrance of the establishment.

SET FIRE TO THE NIGHTCLUB

The suspect then set the substance on fire and fled the scene. People nearby, noticing the rapidly growing flames, reported the situation to the police and fire department. Firefighters who arrived at the scene upon the notification intervened in the fire and brought the flames under control. There were no casualties or injuries in the fire.

OWNER KILLED HOURS LATER

Hours after the fire, the owner of the nightclub was shot in an armed attack. Yusuf Durmuş, 53, was targeted as he left his home.

According to Star Haber's report; Durmuş was seriously injured after being hit by four bullets. He was taken to the hospital by medical teams but could not be saved despite all interventions.

THE MURDER COMMITTED BY A GANG

Following the consecutive incidents of fire and murder, the police launched a large-scale investigation. Initial findings suggest that a criminal organization may have played a role in the murder of Durmuş.

Authorities are investigating whether the fire at the nightclub is related to the armed attack.
