The "Century Housing Project," announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and to be constructed by TOKİ in 81 provinces, continues to accept applications for 500,000 social housing units. "GREAT INTEREST RECEIVED"
The Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, made statements regarding the applications that started on November 10. Speaking on A Haber live broadcast, Kurum stated:
"The 500,000 social housing project has received great interest. There were 2 million 879 thousand valid applications, meaning approximately 3 million applications. We will make our first deliveries to the earthquake zone. We estimate that we will deliver in 2026."
Minister Kurum stated that they have built a total of 100,000 housing units in Istanbul, adding, "In addition, we will provide 15,000 rental housing units to the city."
GENERAL APPLICATION OPENED
Applications for the 500,000 social housing project, which will be built in 81 provinces under the slogan "Homeowner Turkey" by the Housing Development Administration (TOKİ), started on Monday.
Citizens can learn which bank is serving in which region from the address "https://talep.toki.gov.tr/500binkonut/files/Proje-Banka.pdf". Those who call the ALO 181 hotline can also find answers to their questions.
Throughout the week, applications were received based on the last digit of the Turkish ID number. Today, however, all citizens can apply regardless of their ID number.
Applications to be made through e-Government will end on December 18, while applications at bank branches will conclude on December 19. The application processes for martyr families, veterans, and duty-related disabled individuals will be conducted through branches without any application fee.
At authorized banks (Ziraat Bank, Halk Bank, Emlak Participation Bank), applications will be accepted from the branches announced on the TOKİ page without any distinction based on ID numbers.
LOTTERY TO BE DRAWN IN DECEMBER
The houses will be designed in 2+1 and 1+1 formats, suitable for horizontal architecture and traditional texture.
In the project, special quotas have been created for the relatives of martyrs, veterans, disabled individuals, retirees, youth, and families with three or more children. Accordingly, families of martyrs, veterans, and disabled individuals will have a 5% quota, families with three or more children will have a 10% quota, and retirees and youth aged 18-30 will have a 20% quota.
Anyone who is at least 18 years old, has been a citizen of the Republic of Turkey for at least 10 years, and does not own a house registered in their name, their spouse's, or their children's name can apply. The household's monthly net income must not exceed 145,000 lira for Istanbul and 127,000 lira for other provinces.
The sale price of the houses will start from 1 million 800 thousand lira. These houses will be offered for sale with a 10% down payment and a 240-month term under state guarantee. Installments will start at 7,313 lira in Istanbul and 6,750 lira in other provinces.
The construction and tender process will begin in November, and the first lotteries will be drawn in December. The delivery of the houses is planned to start in March 2027. The first five cities where the most houses will be built are recorded as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, and Konya. One-fifth of the total houses in the project will be built in Istanbul.
