The Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, made evaluations regarding the agenda during a live broadcast on A Haber. Kurum stated that they are accelerating their work on site fees, which have been a topic of discussion, especially in metropolitan areas.
MANAGEMENT COMPANIES WILL BE MONITORED
Minister Kurum emphasized that they will create a new system to prevent disputes between site managements and residents, stating that management companies will be audited both financially and technically.
Kurum recalled that the regulation prepared to prevent exorbitant fee increases has been submitted to the Parliament, using the following statements:
"First of all, we will audit site management companies. We will grant qualifications to these companies. Depending on the qualifications of these companies, there will be obligations. We will conduct both financial audits and technical audits."
"THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO INCREASE FEES ABOVE INFLATION"
Minister Kurum pointed out the deficiencies in the current legislation, stating that complaints from citizens will be evaluated and resolved more effectively with the new system.
Kurum also expressed the following regarding the limitation of fee increases:
"The current legislation is based on the condominium ownership law, and frankly, there is a bit of a lack of control. This will bring it under control. They will not be able to increase fees above inflation. We will implement a regulation that will either require a majority decision in the general assembly or allow us to audit site management companies."
The new regulation aims to increase the accountability of managements and strengthen the rights of property owners.
