A response has come from Mohammed Nezzal, a member of Hamas's Political Bureau, to U.S. President Donald Trump's statement that "Hamas needs to respond to the ceasefire plan within 3-4 days." Nezzal stated that they will respond to the plan soon and emphasized that they will complete the evaluation of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange proposal in Gaza shortly, noting that the process is being handled in line with the interests of the Palestinian people.

Hamas announced that it will soon respond to the plan presented by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in Gaza.

Mohammed Nezzal, a member of Hamas's Political Bureau, stated in a press release, "Since the plan was announced on September 30, Hamas has begun consultations with Palestinian groups, independent figures, and mediators both internally and externally. Despite having numerous criticisms, the movement is addressing the issue with all seriousness."

Nezzal emphasized that Hamas is seriously evaluating the plan and will respond soon, highlighting that their final stance will take into account the highest interests of the Palestinian people and the strategic constants of the Palestinian cause.

Nezzal stated, "We do not accept an approach of either complete acceptance or complete rejection. We are not acting under time pressure or threats." He stressed that Hamas is adopting an approach that considers the interests of the Palestinian people and takes into account all political balances.

"WE ARE SERIOUS ABOUT REACHING AGREEMENTS"

Nezzal noted that the movement is in constant and sensitive contact with friendly Arab and Islamic countries, saying, "In the last 28 hours, our experts have been working day and night to maintain communication with mediators and friendly countries. We are truly serious about reaching agreements."

He explained that their seriousness regarding the plan stems not from time pressure but from the desire to stop the mass slaughter that has been ongoing in Gaza for two years, stating, "We do not want this massacre to enter its third year. For us, time is a deception. Therefore, we are striving to stop the mass slaughter that our people are subjected to."

WHAT HAPPENED?

The White House announced on September 29 the proposal titled "Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict," consisting of 20 items, presented by President Trump.

During a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom he received at the White House, Trump stated that if the plan is accepted by the parties, "the war" will immediately come to an end, Israel will gradually withdraw from Gaza, a new process without Hamas's role in Gaza will begin, and all prisoners will be released.

Netanyahu also expressed support for the plan, stating that it "achieves the war objectives."

Later, Trump mentioned that Hamas has 3-4 days to respond to the peace plan he presented to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.
