The Presidency of Communication's Disinformation Combat Center (DMM) announced that the claim shared on some social media accounts stating, 'The Mint has stopped minting 1 and 5 kuruş coins' is not true.

"DO NOT TRUST MANIPULATIVE CONTENT"

In a written statement made from DMM's social media account, it was stated, "The claim shared on some social media accounts that 'The Mint has stopped minting 1 and 5 kuruş coins' contains disinformation. There are sufficient amounts of minted 1 and 5 kuruş coins in the Central Bank's stocks, and new minting is not being done as no additional demand has been received. The mentioned coins are in circulation; if demand arises, they can be minted again. The public is requested not to trust manipulative content that is deliberately circulated."
