The incident occurred in the early morning in Kalfaköy neighborhood. According to the information obtained, one of the individuals conducting illegal excavation to search for treasure entered the opened tunnel.
FRIEND REPORTED AFTER NOT HEARING FROM HIM
The friend outside the tunnel reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center after not hearing from Tarık Yegül inside for a long time.
TEAMS MOBILIZED
Upon the report, gendarmerie, AFAD, UMKE, and Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) teams were dispatched to the area. The teams, who reached the scene in a short time, began working to reach Yegül, who was trapped inside the tunnel.
NARROW AND LONG TUNNEL COMPLICATED THE WORK
The long and narrow structure of the tunnel complicated the rescue efforts, while the teams worked meticulously for hours.
After the efforts, Tarık Yegül was reached, but it was determined that Yegül had passed away.
THE CORPSE WAS TAKEN TO THE MORGUE
The lifeless body of Yegül, who was pulled out of the tunnel where he was trapped, was taken to the hospital morgue. The exact cause of Yegül's death will be clarified after the autopsy.
It was learned that an investigation has been initiated by the gendarmerie teams regarding the incident.
