Ömer Sıcak, who is on trial for allegedly stabbing and killing his daughter's ex-boyfriend Seyit Muhammet Talay in Antalya, denied the accusations. In his statement, Sıcak claimed that Talay was stabbed by his father and brothers. A police officer, who was heard as a witness during the hearing, said, "I saw his intestines coming out. When I asked Seyit, 'Who stabbed you?' he mentioned the name Ömer Sıcak."
On December 25, 2024, a chilling incident occurred in the Aksu district of Antalya. Seyit Muhammet Talay (27) allegedly had a feud with his ex-girlfriend A.S. (24) after they broke up. On the day of the incident, as Talay passed by A.S.'s house in his car, he got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend and her siblings. The argument escalated into a fight when A.S.'s father, Ömer Sıcak (50), and other family members arrived.
HE GAVE THE NAME OF THE PERSON WHO STABBED HIM BEFORE HE DIED During the scuffle, Seyit Muhammet Talay was stabbed. He called his father Ramazan Talay and his cousin Serdar Elgün to inform them that he had been stabbed. Before losing consciousness, Talay told the police, who arrived at the scene, that it was Ömer Sıcak who stabbed him. Talay was taken to Kepez State Hospital, where he later died.
Seyit Muhammet Talay FATHER ARRESTED, DAUGHTERS RELEASED Ömer Sıcak, who was taken into custody, was arrested, while his daughters A.S. and D.S. were released. An indictment was prepared against Ömer Sıcak and his daughters A.S. and D.S. on charges of "intentional murder." The indictment stated that Ömer Sıcak, A.S., and D.S. acted together, and that A.S. and D.S. continued to attack while the victim was injured.
"I THINK SEYIT INJURED HIMSELF" The arrested suspect Ömer Sıcak and the suspects A.S. and D.S. appeared before the judge at the Antalya 4th High Criminal Court. A.S. stated that they encountered the victim on the road on the day of the incident, saying, "Seyit Muhammet is my ex-boyfriend. We broke up 1.5 months ago. Seyit constantly harassed me. On the day of the incident, we met on the way home. I told him to leave. My father came to protect me. My sister held my father. I got Muhammet into the car. He took his phone and called his family. We called the police. Seyit was not injured when he got into the car. I think Seyit injured himself."
"I THINK IT WAS HIS FATHER AND SIBLINGS WHO STABBED HIM" Ömer Sıcak stated that Talay was harassing his daughter, that there was a dispute on the day of the incident, but he did not harm him. Sıcak said, "I had an execution, I tried to stay away, I went into the garden. I think it was Seyit's father and siblings who stabbed him," he said. The victim's mother, Sevim Talay, stated that she wanted the heaviest punishment for the suspects.
Ömer Sıcak "I SAW HIS INTESTINES WERE OUT" A police officer who intervened in the incident testified in court, saying, "I asked Seyit, 'Were you stabbed?' He showed me his body. When I lifted his clothes, I saw that his intestines were out. When I asked him, 'Who stabbed you?' he said, 'Ömer Sıcak.' I requested an ambulance because the person's life was in danger. Then we detained the suspects," he said. The court decided to continue the detention of suspect Ömer Sıcak and postponed the hearing due to the inability to find the knife used at the scene and the conflicting statements of the parties.
"THERE ARE CONTRADICTIONS IN THE STATEMENTS" After the hearing, the victim's lawyer Celil Şenol stated, "In the incident, the victim was blocked by the suspects while going home. He was killed by being stabbed and hit on the head with an object. There are contradictions in the statements. While the family stated that there were 6 people at the scene, eyewitnesses definitively stated that there were 3 people. The identities of two individuals could not be determined due to the lack of camera footage and eyewitness evidence," he said.
"HOW CAN A PERSON STAB HIS OWN CHILD?" The victim's father Ramazan Talay stated that the suspects held a grudge due to a debt dispute, saying, "My son worked for this family as a farmer. After doing his job, he asked for his money, and they didn't give it for a long time, then he got his money. A group of 6 people blocked his way, beat him, stabbed him, and killed him. My son called me when he was injured. When we arrived at the scene, the child was not making any noise. An ambulance and police were called. Right now, one person is arrested, but there were 6 people involved in the incident. Some accused me of stabbing my son. How can a person stab his own child? This is a huge slander," he said.
"I WANT JUSTICE, MY SON'S BLOOD IS ON THE GROUND" Sevim Talay, who said she was devastated by her son's death, stated, "When my son asked for his money, they told him, 'Come yourself, don't bring anyone with you, come to get the money.' They had already set the trap then. I went with my son again. They told him, 'You can never pass this way again, you cannot come here again.' Four days later, they blocked his way and beat him. At that time, we had filed a complaint. We withdrew our complaint because they threatened us. On the day of the incident, they caused my son's death as a family. My son called us and told us. Now they are slandering. One person cannot hit him on the head, stab him, and destroy the car. I want justice. My son's blood is on the ground," she said.
