A person in Hatay opened fire on a barking dog while children were nearby. The incident drew public outrage, and gendarmerie teams launched an investigation.

In the Bozlu neighborhood of Yayladağı district in Hatay, a dog began barking at a moving car as it passed by.

FIRED IN FRONT OF THE CHILDREN

Seeing the dog barking at the car, the driver stopped the vehicle, approached the dog with his gun, and fired. In the footage captured by security cameras, it was seen that two children were passing by the road at the moment the dog was shot.

The mother, Hatice Tuzsuz, who experienced a moment of fear with her children, reported the situation to the gendarmerie. It was learned that the gendarmerie teams have started an investigation regarding the incident.

"I THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO CHASE THE DOG, BUT HE FIRED"

Buğlem Yalçın, who described the moments when the dog was shot, said, "While my brother and I were coming down the hill, a man stopped with his car. He opened the car door and ran towards our dog. I thought he was going to chase the dog, but he pulled out his gun and fired at our dog. We were scared, and then the man got back in his car and left. After we got home, we immediately called the gendarmerie. We were frozen in fear and very scared. He had a gun. If I had done something, he could have shot. We couldn't say anything because we were afraid he would shoot at us."

"THOSE BULLETS COULD HAVE HIT MY CHILDREN TOO"

Hatice Tuzsuz, who stated that the children were coming back from the market when the man got out of his car and fired, said, "A few days ago, the children went to the market. I was waiting at home when they returned. At that moment, I heard two gunshots. At first, I thought a car tire had burst. When I got up and looked out the window, I saw a car parked on the hill and my children coming down the hill.

They got out of the car and fired because the dog was chasing the car. The children immediately ran up, scared. My children took the car's license plate, and we immediately called the gendarmerie to report the situation. We retrieved the footage from the camera at home. The camera footage showed that the car fired two shots. The children were very scared at that moment. Since this is a residential area, someone could come out from inside a house, and the bullet could have hit them too. It could have hit my children. I think it is very wrong to fire a gun here," she expressed.
