In the Köyceğiz district, the downpour was effective from yesterday morning. Since yesterday, 158 kilograms of rain has fallen per square meter in the district. Many houses and workplaces were flooded due to the downpour, and the streets and avenues turned into lakes.

Drivers and pedestrians experienced difficult moments. The water level of Köyceğiz Lake, fed by the increasing flow of Namnam Stream, Yuvarlakçay, and Kargıcak streams, rose. Today, in the Gülpınar neighborhood of Köyceğiz, one person progressed on a canoe on the road covered by floodwaters caused by the downpour. Those moments were captured by another person on a mobile phone.
GOVERNORATE MADE A STATEMENT
In a written statement from the Muğla Governorate, it was reported that due to the heavy rains that started on February 10 and continued until 21:00 yesterday, flooding and floods occurred in some areas of the province. The statement noted that 127 kilograms of rain fell in Menteşe, 109 in Bodrum, 140 in Dalaman, 158 in Köyceğiz, 134 in Marmaris, 112 in Seydikemer, and 123 in Ula per square meter. It was stated that since the moment the rains began, the teams on the field intervened in the adverse conditions with 759 personnel, 499 vehicles, 126 construction machines, 100 motor pumps, and 36 submersible pumps.
DAMAGE TO 5,773 DECARES OF AGRICULTURAL LAND AND 550 DECARES OF GREENHOUSE
According to initial assessments, it was reported that approximately 5,773 decares of agricultural land and 550 decares of greenhouse were damaged. In the city, where strong winds and a tornado were also effective in addition to the downpour, it was reported that a total of 47 structures, including 44 houses and workplaces and 3 trout farms, were affected by flooding and floods, 2 vehicles were damaged, and 20 houses were evacuated as a precaution. It was reported that damage occurred in 3 barns due to floods and flooding, and 8 small livestock, 50 poultry, bees in 100 hives, and 35 tons of farm fish died.
LANDSLIDE IN 2 REGIONS
It was stated that damage occurred on bridges and roads at 14 different points throughout the city, and landslides occurred in two regions, with transportation being provided via alternative routes in these areas. Under the coordination of the Muğla Governorate, it was noted that the work of the district governorships, municipalities, Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, AFAD Provincial Directorate, and relevant institutions in the field continued uninterrupted.
