A pickup truck passing over a dog lying by the roadside in Seferihisar district of Izmir and continuing on its way without stopping drew great reactions. The owner of the dog, who lost his 14-year-old friend, was overwhelmed with tears.
The incident that occurred in the Seferihisar district of İzmir deeply shocked animal lovers. Moments when a pickup truck driver ran over a dog lying by the roadside and drove away from the scene wounded consciences. In the incident, a dog named 'Meks' lost its life, while its owner claimed that the driver acted consciously.
DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET
The incident took place on 6142 Street in the Ürkmez Mersin Area neighborhood of Seferihisar district. According to the information obtained, a pickup truck with the license plate 35 CBV 596, driven by I.K., passed over the dog named 'Meks' lying in the street. After the impact, the dog died at the scene, while the driver drove away without even looking back.
"NOT AN ACCIDENT, DONE CONSCIOUSLY"
The dog's owner, Hasan Şahin, expressed his pain and argued that the incident was not an accident. Şahin stated that the driver did not stop despite noticing the dog and expressed his reaction with the following words:
"A THIRD OF MY LIFE WAS SPENT WITH HIM"
"I am really very sad. A third of my life was spent with Meks; we were together for exactly 14 years. I cannot digest that he was killed not by accident, but consciously, while suffering. I found him at the Seferihisar shelter, huddled alone in a kennel among 500 dogs, and adopted him. Now our Meks is gone, but let his blood and pain not be left on the ground. It is clearly seen in the footage, he drives away without even looking back."
