The Ministry of Interior has warned citizens about the expected heavy and at times intense snowfall in 22 provinces on December 26-27, based on the latest data received from the General Directorate of Meteorology.
The Ministry of Interior announced that citizens should be careful and take precautions against heavy snowfall expected to be effective in 22 provinces today and tomorrow.
HEAVY SNOW EXPECTED ABOVE 300 METERS IN THE NORTHWEST
In a statement made on the ministry's social media account, it was noted that starting from the night hours of Friday, December 26, 2025, strong and locally heavy (over 20 cm) snowfall is expected in the high areas above 300 meters in Bolu, Düzce, northern Karabük, northern Kastamonu, western Sinop, as well as in the provinces of Zonguldak and Bartın.
STRONG SNOWFALL ON DECEMBER 27 IN THE EAST AND SOUTHEAST
The statement indicated that on Saturday, December 27, strong (5-20 cm) snowfall is expected to be effective in the high areas of Erzincan, Elazığ, Tunceli, Erzurum, Ardahan, and gradually in Iğdır, as well as in Ağrı, Kars, and Van during the night hours. It was also noted that locally heavy (over 20 cm) snowfall is expected in the north and east of Bingöl, Bitlis, Muş, Hakkari, Şırnak, and gradually in the south of Van.
BEWARE OF ICING, FROST, AND BLIZZARD RISKS
The Ministry of Interior emphasized in its statement that citizens should be careful and take precautions against disruptions in transportation, icing, frost, and blizzards in high areas, and it was importantly reminded to heed the warnings of the relevant authorities.
