The Ministry of Interior has imposed a temporary traffic restriction on trucks, tow trucks, and tankers to prevent congestion on the roads during the Ramadan Bayram holiday.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, it was noted that due to the Ramadan Bayram holiday, vehicle traffic is expected to intensify on routes leading from major cities to other cities and tourism areas.
In this context, some measures have been taken to ensure that citizens can travel in peace and safety, to reduce traffic congestion, to prevent traffic rule violations, and to maintain public order and security.
HERE ARE THE ROADS THAT HEAVY VEHICLES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER
The traffic restriction application regarding heavy vehicles is listed as follows:
"From March 21 at 16:00 to March 23 at 01:00, towards Istanbul; on the D-100 highway and O-3 motorway from the province of Kırklareli, on the D-110 highway from the province of Tekirdağ, on the O-4 and D-750 highways from the province of Ankara, on the O-7 (North Marmara) motorway from the provinces of Tekirdağ and Sakarya, on the D-100 highway from the district of Merzifon in Amasya province, on the O-5 motorway and D-575 and D-595 highways from the province of Bursa, and on the D-650 highway from the district of Bozüyük in Bilecik province, the passage of trucks, tractors, and tankers (including intermediate entries) will not be allowed."
EXCEPTION FOR SUPPLY CHAIN
The statement also mentioned that in order to prevent disruptions in supply processes, vehicles carrying fresh fruits and vegetables, live animals, meat and meat products, milk and dairy products, perishable and frozen foods, live and cut flowers, medicines and medical supplies, packaged seafood, mail and periodicals, animal feed, and fuel products will be allowed to travel exceptionally, primarily using routes outside the main arteries, and in cases of necessity, they will be allowed to be on the main arteries for the shortest time possible.
