Hüseyin Yayman, Deputy Chairman of the AK Party, reacted strongly to the claims made by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel regarding the housing deliveries in the earthquake-affected areas. Yayman argued that Özel's statements do not reflect the truth and criticized the tone used. He stated, "When the mind is poor, the language is ugly, and the style is foul," and added, "We have delivered 455 thousand houses. You couldn't even provide a model of 455 thousand houses."
AK Party Deputy Chairman Hüseyin Yayman responded harshly to the claims made by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel regarding earthquake housing. In his statement, Yayman condemned Özel's remarks and criticized the language and allegations used.
Yayman included the phrase, "Our elders have a beautiful saying: 'When the mind is poor, the language is ugly, and the style becomes foul.'" in his statement.
"THERE ARE NO POLITICAL TRICKSTERS IN THE AK PARTY"
Continuing his criticisms towards the CHP, Yayman stated, "There are no political tricksters in the AK Party; however, anyone who wants to see the many charlatans and clowns in the CHP can look in the mirror."
COUNTER THROUGH THE NUMBER OF HOUSES
Addressing the claims regarding earthquake housing, Yayman said, "We delivered 455 thousand houses. You couldn't even provide a model of 455 thousand houses."
"TRUTHS ARE HARSH BUT CANNOT BE DENIED"
At the end of his statement, Yayman emphasized that he stands behind his criticisms by saying, "Truths are harsh but cannot be denied."
In his statement, Hüseyin Yayman used the following expressions:
"I condemn and curse the words spoken by the Chairman of the Republican People's Party, Mr. Özgür Özel, in today's group meeting. Our elders have a very beautiful saying; 'When the mind is poor, the language is ugly, and the style becomes foul.'
Mr. Özgür Özel, there are no political tricksters in our AK Party. But we know that there are many charlatans and clowns in the Republican People's Party. If you want to see this, please look in the mirror. I want to remind Mr. Özgür Özel again; I will not respond to his ugly words, but I said, 'You didn't even come as an earthquake tourist,' and it upset you very much.
Mr. Özgür Özel, we have not forgotten what your former mayor and your deputy told you. Therefore, you told us; 'You cannot remove the rubble,' we did. 'You cannot provide tents,' you said, we did. On the other hand, 'You cannot make containers,' you said, we did. 'You cannot provide houses,' you said; we delivered exactly 455 thousand houses. You couldn't even provide a model of 455 thousand houses.
YOU DIDN'T EVEN COME AS AN EARTHQUAKE TOURIST!
Therefore, I want to express this again; you, Mr. Özgür Özel, were going to build the Ulu Mosque? You did not build the Ulu Mosque, and the Foundations had to take over here. Is there a daycare center built by CHP municipalities in the earthquake zone? Is there a school? On the other hand, are there houses? Is there a park? We know that none of these exist in Malatya, Gaziantep, and Hatay.
Therefore, you were upset, that's true; you didn't even come as an earthquake tourist. Moreover, you removed people who stayed in your municipalities, in the houses, in the guesthouses because they did not vote for your party. I want to remind you of this historical truth again. It may upset you, it may hurt, but these are the truths, Mr. Özgür."
ÖZEL HAD RAISED THE "EMPTY PROMISSORY NOTE" CLAIM
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had made striking claims regarding the delivery of mass housing in the earthquake zone during his party's group meeting. Özel alleged that earthquake victims were made to sign promissory notes with the amount and interest rate left blank before the handover of keys.
During the group meeting, Özel showed a document and claimed that the sections for the borrowing amount and annual interest rate were left blank in the promissory note signed by the "T.C. Ministry of Interior AFAD Presidency."
