The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into those who made "provocative posts" regarding the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched investigations against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and 99 suspects for the crimes of "being a leader of a criminal organization," "being a member of a criminal organization," "extortion," "bribery," "qualified fraud," "illegally obtaining personal data," and "interfering with a tender." Additionally, investigations have been initiated against İmamoğlu, IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, and Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, among 7 suspects, for the crime of "aiding the PKK/KCK terrorist organization."
INVESTIGATION INTO THOSE MAKING 'PROVOCATIVE SHARES'
In this context, action has been taken to prevent the spread of content that could disrupt public order on social media. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation against those making 'provocative shares' regarding İmamoğlu's detention.
