Iran claimed that it targeted shelters where US soldiers were hiding in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and that nearly 500 soldiers lost their lives.
Iran claimed that the shelters where U.S. soldiers are located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, were targeted with missiles and drones. The statement regarding the allegation was announced through Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency.
"SHELTERS IDENTIFIED"
According to Fars News Agency, Colonel Ibrahim Zulfikari, spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which conducts operations of the Iranian Armed Forces, asserted that U.S. military bases in the region had been targeted previously and that they had been dispersed to different locations as a result.
Zulfikari claimed that U.S. soldiers had left the bases and moved towards hotels and shelters, stating, "In recent hours, two shelters where they were hiding in Dubai were identified."
"NEARLY 500 SOLDIERS WERE PRESENT"
The Iranian official alleged that more than 400 people were in one of the identified shelters and more than 100 in the other. Zulfikari noted that both locations were targeted and claimed that heavy casualties were incurred in the attacks.
EMPHASIS ON MISSILES AND DRONES
The statement indicated that the attacks were carried out by air and naval units affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. It was expressed that precision-guided missiles and drones were used in the operations.
