In a speech made a few hours after the attack in Sydney, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that he had watched a heroism video recorded during the attack. "We saw evil, and we saw the pinnacle of Jewish heroism," Netanyahu said, describing the Syrian al-Ahmed, who took the attacker's weapon, as a "Jewish hero."

Netanyahu expressed, "On my way here, I watched a video showing a Jewish man attacking one of the killers and taking his weapon, and who knows how many lives he saved."
CORRECTED HIS MISTAKE IN CABINET MEETING
Hours after his speech, in a cabinet opening speech held in Dimona, southern Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that al-Ahmed was a Muslim. Notably, Netanyahu said, "We saw the actions of a brave man. It turned out he was a brave Muslim man. I respect him. He prevented one of these terrorists from killing innocent Jews."

A shooting attack had occurred at Bondi Beach in Sydney, New South Wales (NSW), Australia. In the attack, 15 people lost their lives, and 38 others were injured, including 2 police officers and 1 child. It was reported that one of the suspects was killed, while another injured suspect was taken into custody.
