North Korea has reportedly launched an "unidentified rocket" into the East Sea (Sea of Japan).
According to Yonhap, the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff announced that North Korea launched an unidentified rocket into the East Sea in the morning hours.
IT HAD GONE MISSING AFTER THE LAUNCH
It was reported that North Korea also launched an unidentified rocket from the Pyongyang region yesterday, and the rocket went missing after what appeared to be a failed launch.
The launches drew attention as they came after tensions that arose earlier this year due to the flying of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) across the border between the two countries.
UAV TENSION
North Korea had accused South Korea of violating its airspace due to a UAV that fell within its borders on January 10.
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung had ordered an investigation into the examination of the UAV that fell in North Korea and expressed his sorrow over the incident.
The South Korean prosecution had initiated proceedings against three individuals for allegedly flying UAVs into North Korea.
