The Istanbul 24th Criminal Court has issued a ruling regarding actors Halit Ergenç and Rıza Kocaoğlu, who were tried for giving false testimony in the investigation against manager Ayşe Barım. Only Halit Ergenç attended the verdict hearing of the 'false testimony' case held on May 23, 2025, at the Istanbul 24th Criminal Court. It was reported that Rıza Kocaoğlu, who attended the first hearing, was not present at the verdict hearing, but his lawyer represented him in court.
The court panel sentenced Ergenç to 1 year, 10 months, and 15 days, and Kocaoğlu to 1 year and 8 months in prison. However, it was stated that the announcement of the verdict was postponed due to both actors having no prior criminal records.
It was revealed that Rıza Kocaoğlu, who was not present at the hearing, underwent surgery on the same day. While it was stated that the actor's health condition is good, no explanation was given regarding the reason for the operation. Kocaoğlu shared a post on his social media page, simply stating, "My surgery went well, thank God, thank you all very much."
