In the investigations related to illegal betting in Istanbul, it was determined that the former president and executives of Tuzlaspor Club owned an illegal betting site.
As a result of the conducted operations, operations were carried out in 5 provinces centered in Istanbul. While 8 people were detained during the operations, the Diyarbekirspor club, which was found to be involved in illegal betting, was seized.
ILLEGAL BETTING WEBSITES EXISTED
Based on the report prepared by MASAK, a study was initiated against the crime of 'illegal betting' by the Cyber Crime Department of the Istanbul Police, coordinated by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Investigations revealed that the former president of Tuzlaspor Club, which changed its name to Beykoz 1908 Sports Club in 2024, along with its executives, owned an illegal betting site and laundered the criminal proceeds obtained from these activities through some sports clubs. It was determined that the revenues obtained from the illegal betting organization were transferred to the club's accounts through the bank accounts of the club's accountant and some employees. Additionally, it was found that the Diyarbekirspor Club also facilitated illegal betting.
After the completion of the operations, simultaneous operations were carried out this morning in Ankara, Izmir, Hatay, and Diyarbakır, with Istanbul as the center, at the identified addresses. During the operation, 8 people were captured and detained, while 3 companies, the Diyarbekirspor Club, 6 vehicles, 3 motorcycles, 7 apartments, 6 plots of land, and a business were seized. A large number of digital materials were confiscated during the searches conducted at the addresses.
