In the incident that occurred after a football match in the town of Yazıhüyük, which is part of the Derinkuyu district of Nevşehir, it was alleged that Birol Demirdelen, the CHP mayor of Yazıhüyük, assaulted guest players with a stick. While mobile phone footage of the incident emerged, Demirdelen stated, "I took the stick from someone in the crowd who had it. I do not accept being accused due to the footage presented to the public."

CHP MAYOR ASSAULTED GUEST ATHLETES WITH A STICK
According to the information received, a group of young people from the Kildere district of Niğde came to Yazıhüyük to play a football match. It was reported that a dispute broke out between the two groups after the match, and as the fight escalated, some individuals allegedly locked themselves in a room in the cafeteria next to the football field. According to the claim, CHP Yazıhüyük Mayor Birol Demirdelen, who arrived at the scene, ordered the police teams to open the door and assaulted the guest players with a stick.
It was reported that one of the assaulted individuals received first aid from the gendarmerie and was transferred to the hospital, and then an ambulance was called to the scene.
"MY BROTHER'S RIBS AND NOSE WERE BROKEN"
Yasin Şahin, who recounted his experiences, said, "Last Friday, we went to Yazıhüyük for a football match. The Mayor of Yazıhüyük assaulted us deliberately and with premeditation. My brother's ribs and nose were broken. My nose, cheekbone, and fingers were also broken. I have bruises on many parts of my body." Şahin claimed that the mayor locked them in the changing room, stating, "He allowed a group of about 50-60 people inside and instructed them to 'kill them, don't let them out alive.' If the gendarmerie had not arrived at the scene, they would have killed us there."
"I WENT THERE TO CALM THE SITUATION"
Yazıhüyük Mayor Birol Demirdelen also made a written statement on his social media accounts, claiming that an assassination of his character was being carried out against him. Demirdelen stated, "I went there to calm the situation. While I was entering, a large group pushed the door and entered from behind me. I took the stick from someone in the crowd. I do not accept being blamed due to the images presented to the public. My entire effort and struggle were to prevent the situation from escalating."
