Chilling details have emerged in the murder of 19-year-old İpek Akgül, who was tortured and killed four months ago in Adana and her body was found buried in an orange grove.
HE WENT TO THE POLICE AND CONFESSED TO KILLING HIS GIRLFRIEND
20-year-old Yaşar Bulut went to the Adana Police Department's Criminal Investigation Bureau on February 14th and reported that he had killed his 19-year-old girlfriend İpek Akgül, accusing her of cheating on him, and buried her in an orange grove. Yaşar Bulut was taken into custody by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. The police then started searching for İpek Akgül's body.
THE BODY OF THE YOUNG GIRL WAS FOUND BY A CADAVAR DOG
The Criminal Investigation Bureau determined the coordinates of the orange grove in Asmalı Neighborhood of Yumurtalık district, where İpek Akgül's body was buried, by using the GPS coordinates of the car rented by Yaşar Bulut. The cadaver dog named 'Asena' found İpek's buried body in the garden during the search.
TORTURED FIRST AND THEN SHOT WITH A GUN
An autopsy conducted on İpek Akgül's body at the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute revealed that she was tortured to death on February 11th, with her arm and ribs broken, and then shot multiple times with a gun. Akgül's funeral took place in tears at the Yeşiloba Cemetery in Seyhan district.
THE "HITMAN" BEHIND İPEK'S MURDER WAS REVEALED
The special team attached to the Criminal Investigation Bureau continued their efforts to solve İpek Akgül's murder. In their investigation, the team found out that İpek had met and arranged to meet 22-year-old E.A. from İzmir through social media three days before the murder. They determined that E.A. shot İpek three times with a gun while she was taking a shower at his house and then fled. After receiving medical treatment, E.A. stated in his testimony, "We met and got close online, and we met at my house. For no reason, he shot me while I was taking a shower."
SPECIAL TEAM DID NOT GIVE UP ON THE CASE FOR A MOMENT
The special team established in the Criminal Investigation Bureau determined through the City Security Management System (KGYS) and License Plate Tracking System (PTS) that İpek was not alone in the car on the night of the murder. The police, who conducted an in-depth investigation, determined that İpek's ex-boyfriend Ahmet Albayrak, 27, and his friend Mehmet Görgün, 26, were in the car on the night of the murder.
"KILL THE GIRL AND WE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU IN PRISON," THEY SAID
During the interrogation, the killer Yaşar Bulut said, "Actually, I don't know the girl. İpek's real boyfriend Ahmet and his friend Mehmet were with me. They asked me to kill the girl. They told me that they would take care of me in prison." As a result of the investigation, it was determined that Ahmet Albayrak and Mehmet Görgün hired İpek as a hitman because they wanted to kill E.A. The suspects realized that their plans would be exposed if E.A. survived the attack, so they arranged a meeting with İpek, telling her, "The police are looking for you. We will hide you," and killed her.
THEY WERE ARRESTED DURING A RAID ON THEIR HOUSE
The police officers from the Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested Ahmet Albayrak and Mehmet Görgün in two different houses in Beyazevler Neighborhood in Çukurova district. Yaşar Bulut's brother, 23-year-old Aziz Bulut, was also taken into custody for hiding his brother. After the suspects were taken to the police station, Ahmet Albayrak and Mehmet Görgün blamed each other during the interrogation, claiming that they did not order the attack on E.A. and the murder of İpek. After the necessary procedures at the police station, all four individuals were brought before the court and were subsequently arrested.
