Turkey was shaken by forest fires. Measures are being increased to protect the forests that have succumbed to flames in many areas. While the recent large fires are being brought under control, the Mehmetçik (Turkish soldiers) have entered the field.

NO KITES FLEW IN PICNIC AREAS

Commando teams and public order teams affiliated with the Adıyaman Provincial Gendarmerie Command are conducting inspections in the Alidağı Picnic Area, Adıyaman City Forest, Greenbelt Picnic Area, Budaklı Picnic Area, Beypınarı Picnic Area, and Karadağ Picnic Area located in the city.

The teams on alert against fires are checking the identities of the individuals they encounter and warning them not to light barbecue fires or throw cigarette butts.

PATROLS WITH HEAVY WEAPONS

In order to prevent fires, the gendarmerie teams conducting inspections from both the air and the ground personally carry out patrol duties in areas accessible by land, while drone-supported controls are conducted in hard-to-reach locations.

BARBECUES WERE BANNED IN FORESTED AREAS

As of July 1, 2025, the Adıyaman Governorship had banned the use of barbecues, samovars, and other fire-related picnic activities, as well as the entry and use of materials that pose a fire risk such as wish lanterns, torches, and fireworks in all forested areas across the province until further notice, in order to prevent forest fires. The gendarmerie teams, which carry out meticulous work in forested areas, are also scanning distant areas with binoculars to take precautions against any negative situations. During patrols, the gendarmerie teams remind citizens that unauthorized entry into forested areas and lighting fires are prohibited, and they are warned to report any such negative situations to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
