According to the latest data from the Meteorology Department, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in the Marmara Region, the Western Black Sea, the Central and Eastern Black Sea coasts, as well as in the west of Kahramanmaraş and the coasts of Hatay. Meteorology Expert Fevzi Burak Tekin stated that the rainfall in Istanbul will spread over a wider area during the weekend. In Southeastern Anatolia, dust transport is also anticipated.

Fevzi Burak Tekin, a meteorology expert at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, stated, "Looking at Thursday, we will see rainfall in the coastal areas of the Black Sea, especially in Istanbul and the northern Marmara, as well as in the southeastern Marmara. Especially in the evening hours on Thursday, rainfall may be strong around Edirne, so caution is advised. Looking at Friday, again in the southeastern Marmara, the Northern Aegean, the north and west of Central Anatolia, the Western and Central Black Sea, and the coastal areas of the Eastern Black Sea, we will see showers and local thunderstorms," he said.

Tekin stated, "Looking at the weekend, this rainy system will spread over a wider area. On Saturday, we will see rainfall in the eastern Marmara, the Inner Aegean, the inland parts of the Western Mediterranean, the northwest of Central Anatolia, the inland parts of the Western Black Sea, the coastal areas of the Central and Eastern Black Sea, and in the Eastern Mediterranean. On Monday, it will be possible to see showers and local thunderstorms in the northern and inland parts of our country," he said.
TEMPERATURES WILL DECREASE BY 3 TO 6 DEGREES
Referring to the high air temperatures in recent days, Tekin said, "In the coastal areas, temperatures were 3 to 6 degrees, in Southeastern and Eastern Anatolia 4 to 8 degrees, and in other places, temperatures were 6 to 12 degrees above seasonal norms. As of Thursday, air temperatures in the western parts of our country will decrease by 3 to 6 degrees, and on Friday, in the inland and eastern parts. We expect that especially in the inland and eastern parts of our country, temperatures will remain a few degrees above seasonal norms," he stated.
Speaking about the weather conditions expected in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir in the coming days, Tekin said:
"Looking at the capital, no rainfall is expected on Thursday. It will be partly cloudy with a maximum temperature of 37 degrees. On Friday, there may be a light shower after noon. The air temperature will be around 36 degrees. On Saturday, we expect the temperature in the capital to be 35 degrees. Especially on Saturday night, there is a possibility of rain in the capital. Looking at Istanbul, we will see showers and local thunderstorms on Thursday and Saturday. On Friday, it will be partly very cloudy. There may be light showers on the Anatolian side. The air temperature will vary between 30 and 31 degrees for three days. Looking at Izmir, we do not expect any rainfall in the next three days. It will be partly cloudy, with the maximum temperature ranging between 35 and 36 degrees for three days. Especially in Izmir, on Friday, strong winds will blow from the north, so caution is advised."
