Total trade deficit increases to $6.45B in first 4 months of 2024.

Mexico saw a trade deficit of $3.75 billion in April, according to the country's statistical authority data released Friday.

The figure is a significant increase from $1.65 billion deficit recorded in the same month of last year, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) said in a statement.

In the first four months of 2024, the trade balance showed a deficit of almost $6.45 billion, INEGI said.

In April, the value of merchandise exports reached almost $51.32 billion, up 11.4% from the same month of the previous year.

The value of imports totaled more than $55.07 billion last month, an annual increase of 15.4%. -
