Grammy-winning singer Miley Cyrus shared for the first time with the public a serious health issue she experienced during the New Year's special program filming as the year transitioned from 2022 to 2023. The 32-year-old artist revealed on The Zane Lowe Show that an ovarian cyst had burst during the filming of the TV special titled Miley's New Year's Eve Party.

Cyrus, who was born in Tennessee, kept this crisis hidden from her fans for a long time during the program she prepared with legendary artist Dolly Parton. The artist stated that the health issue occurred while she was working on a project with Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels. "I had a health emergency, an ovarian cyst burst. At that moment, we didn't know exactly what was happening, but we still went ahead with the show," Cyrus said, adding that she continued with the performance despite the physical pain she was experiencing. Cyrus expressed, "It was quite traumatic because it was extremely unbearable, and I still went on stage."
The famous singer also expressed how difficult it was for her to be on stage despite the serious physical symptoms with the following words: "It was really very hard to go on stage in that situation. But I acted with the understanding that the show must go on."
