Justice Minister Akın Gürlek reacted to the long duration of court cases. Speaking in a live broadcast he attended, Gürlek said, "Judge, no offense, but why have you not been able to conclude the divorce case for 8 years? If you cannot provide a reasonable justification, you will have to face the consequences."

Justice Minister Akın Gürlek made striking statements regarding the long duration of court cases. Speaking on NTV live broadcast, Minister Gürlek said that a judge who cannot present a reasonable justification will have to face the consequences.

"IF THE JUDGE CANNOT PRESENT A REASONABLE JUSTIFICATION, HE WILL HAVE TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES"

Gürlek used the following expressions: "The judge should not take it personally, why have you not been able to conclude the divorce case for 8 years? If he cannot present a reasonable justification, he will have to face the consequences. Why should a rent determination case take 4 years, why should an eviction case take 5 years?"

"THE MOST FUNDAMENTAL CRITICISM IN THE JUDICIARY IS THE LENGTHENING OF TRIALS"

Highlights from Gürlek's statements are as follows: "I was aware of the problems in the judiciary. I want to move from the training phase to the implementation phase as soon as possible. The most fundamental criticism in the judiciary is that trials are prolonged. Citizens now want implementation. I want the issues of our citizens who are victims of delayed cases to be addressed immediately.

THE PROCESS OF A TERROR-FREE TURKEY

We attach great importance to a terror-free Turkey. People want to get rid of the terrorism problem. Turkey is now a safe area. We have now reached the stage of reaping the fruits of this process, which is going very well. From now on, the Parliament will take legal steps. First, it is necessary to determine that the organization has laid down its arms.

The Parliament will now exercise its discretion within the framework of this report, and legal regulations will be made. As the Ministry of Justice, we have formed a technical team and integrated them into the Parliament. Our colleagues will always assist our esteemed members of parliament during this law-making process. There will be no such thing as a general amnesty call, and there will be no regulations concerning individuals. There will also be no regulations that could create a perception of impunity. Regulations can be made in the execution law, in the anti-terror law, or the Parliament can enact a new law and include a temporary article. There is no mention of a right to hope in the report. The provisions of aggravated life imprisonment in terrorism cases are applied exactly until death. I do not know whether our Parliament will make a regulation or not.
