Conflicts along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan have flared up again. Images from the region have revealed the severity of the tension between the two countries.
Tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan is not decreasing. As both neighboring countries blame each other, the tension suddenly escalated again.
VIOLENT CLASHES AT THE BORDER
Clashes along the border have resumed. Moments when both sides targeted each other with heavy weapons were captured on camera. No statement has yet been made regarding the toll of the clashes.
On the other hand, Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Afghan government, stated that there would be a military response after Pakistan targeted 7 points it described as "terror camps."
Speaking to Saudi Arabia-based Al Arabiya television, Mujahid made statements regarding Pakistan's targeting of the 7 points it described as "terror camps."
"PAKISTAN MUST RECEIVE A RESPONSE TO ITS SHAMEFUL ACTION"
Mujahid indicated that Afghanistan would respond militarily but did not share details, stating, "Pakistan must receive a response to its shameful action."
Mujahid argued that there were no armed individuals in the area targeted by Pakistan and that only civilians were harmed, saying, "Unfortunately, whenever there is an attack in Pakistan, it is immediately attributed to Afghanistan without evidence. We reject this; Afghan territory is not used against anyone."
Mujahid claimed that the TTP, known as the Pakistan Taliban, has no presence in Afghanistan, describing these as "Pakistan's internal issues."
Mujahid also accused Pakistan of providing shelter to members of the terrorist organization ISIS, stating, "In some cases, they have used these individuals against Afghanistan."
AFGHANISTAN-PAKISTAN DISPUTE
The Pakistan Ministry of Information had announced that after the recent bomb attacks in the country, 7 points it described as "terror camps" along the border with Afghanistan were targeted.
In a statement from the Afghan Ministry of Defense, it was noted that a "suitable and measured response would be given at the appropriate time" against Pakistan.
A statement from the Afghan Red Crescent indicated that 18 people lost their lives and many others were injured as a result of Pakistan's attack.
Pakistan's Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry reported that approximately 70 terrorists were neutralized in the attacks carried out along the Afghanistan border.
After Pakistan targeted the 7 points it described as "terror camps," the Afghan government delivered a protest note to the Kabul Ambassador, who was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
