14-year-old E.D. claimed that his father had been abusing both his mother and him for a long time, and on the night of the incident, he was influenced by a movie he watched and shot his father while wearing gloves, defending himself with the words, "If I hadn't done it, he would have caused us even greater harm."

Mother Eylem Dilsiz, along with her daughters Rojin Dilsiz and the minor E.D. (14), who are being tried on the grounds that they staged a suicide after killing their sleeping father with a gun, appeared before the judge for the first time. The hearing, held at the Bakırköy 17th High Criminal Court, was attended by the defendants who are not in custody and their lawyers. In its interim decision, the court ruled for the arrest of the mother Eylem Dilsiz, who is being tried without detention.

The incident occurred on December 9, 2024, in the Güngören Sanayi neighborhood. Eylem Dilsiz called the police to report that her husband had committed suicide. Upon arrival, the teams found Murat Dilsiz shot in the head. A weapon was also found next to him during the initial examination. Following the funeral procedures, a report was made based on the claim that E.D. spoke to her cousin and stated that they had committed the act together with her mother, leading to an investigation.

"MY DAD WAS ABUSING ME"

During the hearing, 14-year-old E.D. claimed that her father had been abusing her mother and them for a long time. E.D. alleged that her father tried to strangle her mother, saying, "If I hadn't done it, he would have harmed us even more; he was already doing so." E.D. stated that they had previously filed a complaint at the police station but were deterred by threats, and she claimed that her father had sexually abused her.

E.D. indicated that her father had taught her how to use the gun before, and on the day of the incident, she took the gun from under the couch and put it in her own drawer, explaining that she went to her father's room at night and fired.

"I SAW IT IN A MOVIE, I WORE GLOVES"

Continuing her defense, E.D. said she was influenced by a movie she watched, stating, "In the movie, someone kills another person, wearing gloves so as not to leave fingerprints. This came to my mind. I took the gloves from my drawer and put them on. I went and waited by his head. Then my hand went to the trigger, and I pulled it." She then mentioned that she washed her hair, changed her clothes, and handed the gun to her father's hand.

"MY HUSBAND WAS CONSTANTLY ABUSIVE"

Mother Eylem Dilsiz claimed that her husband's psychology deteriorated after returning from abroad and that he constantly inflicted violence on the family. She stated that on the day of the incident, her husband tried to strangle her, and when she went to check after her daughter explained the situation, she found her husband dead.

"THERE WAS CONSTANT FIGHTING AT HOME"

Rojin Dilsiz also asserted that her father used alcohol and drugs, and that fights frequently broke out at home. She expressed that on the morning of the incident, she found her father motionless when she entered his room.

MOTHER ARRESTED

The court panel decided to arrest Eylem Dilsiz, taking into account the nature of the crime and the current state of evidence. While the other defendants continue to be tried without detention, the hearing was adjourned.
