Levent Arkan, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Advertising Inc., was arrested by the court on charges of "qualified sexual harassment" against a young university student girl he contacted for a job application.
In Muğla, a female student studying at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University contacted Levent Arkan, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Advertising Inc. (MUBRAŞ), through social media in search of a job. It was claimed that during the conversations, Arkan sent inappropriate messages to the student. Following a complaint, police teams took action and, upon the instruction of the Muğla Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, detained Arkan at his office on the charge of "qualified sexual harassment."
In a statement from the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, it was said, "The judicial process regarding Levent Arkan, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of MUBRAŞ, who was detained as part of an investigation conducted by the Muğla Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, is ongoing. Necessary information will be provided when the judicial process is clarified."
HE WAS ARRESTED
Levent Arkan (63), the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Advertising Inc. (MUBRAŞ), who is alleged to have harassed university student D.Ç. with whom he communicated online for a job application, was arrested by the court to which he was referred.
"I'LL SEND YOU A TICKET, COME TO ME"
The complainant university student stated that Arkan constantly called her to come to him, while the messages included in the file drew attention. It was reported that Arkan sent messages to the university student such as, "I live alone, you can call me anytime," "Come on now," "Quit your job, I'll send you a ticket, come to me."
According to the statement record, it was also noted that Arkan said he lived alone when he called and invited the young woman to come to him. These words were considered important elements evaluated by the prosecutor's office within the scope of qualified sexual harassment. At the end of her statement, the young woman clearly stated that she was a complainant.
