The actress Nehir Erdoğan came to the forefront with her candid statements about her private life. Speaking about her marriage to her ex-husband Ahmet Sesigürgil, Erdoğan said, "Since our marriage only lasted two years, sometimes I find myself thinking, 'Did I even get married?'"
Actor and singer Nehir Erdoğan was a guest on Saba Tümer's program aired on CNBC-e. Erdoğan, who made striking statements about the marriage process, expressed that societal and family pressure influenced her decisions at that time.
"WE NEEDED TO BE FRIENDS"
Evaluating her relationship with her ex-husband, the actress stated:
“Greetings to my dear ex-husband Ahmet Sesigürgil; sometimes I think that we are just people who should have been very good friends. It feels like we accidentally got married.”
Erdoğan also touched upon the short duration of their marriage, saying, “Since our marriage lasted only two years, sometimes I find myself asking, ‘Did I even get married?’”
"I REMOVED FAMILY EXPECTATIONS IN TWO YEARS"
Expressing that family expectations also played a role in her decision to marry, Erdoğan described that period with the following words:
“At one point, I told my family, ‘Okay, you really want this, we will do this.’ I managed to remove that perfectionist family expectation in two years. In the end, they also realized that I wouldn’t be able to handle this. Thank goodness they no longer pressure me about it.”
Emphasizing that she respects the institution of marriage, Erdoğan stated that she has great respect for couples who successfully maintain their marriages.
