Israel's far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich described Prime Minister Netanyahu's apology to Qatar as a "shame," comparing the situation to the Munich Agreement of 1938.

Israel's far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich described Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's apology to Qatar for the attack on September 9 as "shameful."

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called the leader of Qatar, where the attack took place on September 9, to apologize while meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House.

QATAR APOLOGY CONFUSED ISRAEL

Netanyahu's apology phone call stirred confusion in Israel. Bezalel Smotrich, Israel's far-right Finance Minister, compared Netanyahu's apology to the Munich Agreement made in 1938 between the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Germany, which foresaw the cession of Czechoslovakia's Sudetenland to Germany.

FAR-RIGHT MINISTER CALLED IT 'SHAME'

Using the phrase, "Today marks the anniversary of the Munich Agreement signed on September 29, 1938," Smotrich quoted Winston Churchill, one of England's significant prime ministers, who said about the Munich Agreement, "England had to choose between humiliation and war. It chose humiliation, and therefore it will have to fight."

Smotrich characterized Netanyahu's apology to Qatar as "shameful."

ISRAEL'S ATTACK ON QATAR

The Israeli army had carried out an airstrike on a building in Doha where the Hamas negotiation team was located on September 9.

In the attack, which the leadership cadre of Hamas survived, six people lost their lives, including the son of Hamas Political Bureau member Khalil al-Hayya, four Hamas members, and one Qatari police officer.

On September 10, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu threatened Qatar with new attacks, stating, "Either you expel them or you hand them over to justice. If you do not do this, we will."
