Turkey's developed surveillance balloon GÖKÇERİ has garnered significant attention in the Israeli press. Reports in Israeli media emphasized that the system provides Turkey with intelligence, border security, and a strategic advantage in the global market. It was particularly noted that GÖKÇERİ, which is actively used along the Syrian border, strengthens Turkey's position in the region.
The domestic surveillance balloon GÖKÇERİ, developed by Turkey's defense industry, has become a topic of discussion in Israeli media. An analysis published on the Nziv news site in Israel emphasized that the system, produced by TÜRKPORT engineers, provides Turkey with intelligence, border security, and a strategic advantage in the global market.
STAYS IN THE AIR FOR 18 DAYS
Inflated with helium and reaching up to 40 meters in length, GÖKÇERİ can ascend to an altitude of 1,200 meters and operate continuously for 18 days. It was noted that the system, equipped with optical and thermal cameras, communication relays, electronic warfare systems, and integrated weapons when necessary, significantly enhances Turkey's surveillance capacity.
STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE AND DOMESTIC PRODUCTION
The report stated that the production of a large portion of GÖKÇERİ's subsystems in Turkey is a strategic step that reduces dependency on foreign sources in the defense sector. In this respect, the balloon symbolizes the integration of national defense technologies.
ACTIVE USE AT THE SYRIAN BORDER
Since June, GÖKÇERİ has been actively deployed along the Syrian border, allowing Turkey to detect threats on its border line at an early stage and gain superiority in the field by disrupting enemy communications with its electronic warfare capabilities.

It was emphasized that the system is being used not only for military purposes but also in civil security applications.
