The 19-year-old Mustafa Can Gül, who brutally murdered Public Prosecutor Ercan Kayhan at the restaurant where he was dining, has been arrested and sent to prison. New details have emerged in this widely discussed incident in Turkey. An employee at the restaurant stated that Gül had worked with them for four years and that they had seen him using drugs. The employee also mentioned that a year ago, Gül had come to the restaurant, broken the windows, and caused a disturbance.
Public Prosecutor Ercan Kayhan (58) was stabbed in the throat by Mustafa Can Gül (19), with whom he had a previous feud, at a restaurant in Çekmeköy. Prosecutor Kayhan died at the scene. The suspect, Mustafa Can Gül, was taken to the Anadolu Courthouse in Kartal. Gül was arrested by the court to which he was brought.
The incident occurred yesterday around 21:15 at a restaurant in the Ömerli neighborhood. Public Prosecutor Ercan Kayhan, who was on duty at the General Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Justice Palace in Çağlayan, was stabbed in the throat by Mustafa Can Gül, with whom he had a previous feud. Emergency medical teams, who arrived at the scene upon notification, determined that Kayhan had died. The suspect, Mustafa Can Gül, was quickly apprehended and taken into custody by the police.

Restaurant employee Hacer Durmuş said, "He worked with us when he was 16. He worked for 4 years. We saw that he used drugs. My brother didn't let him in. I ran. I saw my brother on the ground in a pool of blood in front of the kitchen where I worked. I screamed and cried."

At the same time, Hacer Durmuş stated that the murder suspect Mustafa Can Gül had also come to the restaurant a year ago. Describing how he broke the restaurant's windows, Hacer Durmuş said: "He came a year ago too. He broke the windows here."
