An additional expert report has been prepared regarding the death of former Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who lost his life after being electrocuted while trying to check a malfunction in the pool's machinery room. The new report states that six more individuals were found to be at fault for failing to fulfill their inspection obligations during and after the construction process of the pool.

NEW EXPERT REPORT RELEASED

In this context, an additional expert report was prepared by experts from Istanbul Technical University to identify individuals deemed responsible for the non-compliance of the energy room of the pool where the incident occurred with standards, and for the faulty installation of the motor and electrical components.

2 PEOPLE FOUND PRIMARILY AT FAULT

According to the report, N.B., who was arrested within the scope of the investigation for allegedly installing the motor and electrical systems in the pool's energy room in violation of standards, and H.İ., who is claimed to have incorrectly installed the previously malfunctioning pool motor after repair, were found primarily at fault.

1 PERSON RELEASED

In this context, Z.M., who was arrested for carrying out the construction work of the pool, was not found to be at fault. Accordingly, Z.M. was released from prison after the proceedings.

NEW REPORT IDENTIFIES 6 MORE AT FAULT

The new report indicated that 6 more individuals were found to be at fault for failing to fulfill their inspection obligations during and after the construction process of the pool. It was noted that these individuals neglected their inspection duties during the construction phase and did not conduct the necessary checks after the installation was completed. Legal action has been initiated against the new suspects, and it has been learned that a public lawsuit will be filed after the indictment is prepared.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On the evening of June 6, former Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek was electrocuted while trying to check the malfunction in the machine room of the pool at his home in the Yunusemre district. He passed away on June 9 at Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital, where he was taken in critical condition.

Y.Ö., who was responsible for the maintenance of the pool, and A.S., who was determined not to have reported the leakage current situation, were detained. The two suspects were released on judicial control conditions on June 11.

On June 14, Z.M., who was alleged to have constructed the energy room of his home at a distance not compliant with standards, M.Y.P., who was deemed to have been involved in the construction of the pool, N.B., who was alleged to have designed and installed the motor and electrical components in the pool's energy room in violation of standards, and H.İ., who was claimed to have performed incorrect and faulty installations, were detained.

Among the suspects referred to the courthouse, Z.M., N.B., and H.İ. were arrested on charges of "causing death by negligence," while M.Y.P. was released after the proceedings at the prosecutor's office.
