Within the scope of the corruption investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, the arrested Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, Muhittin Böcek, has given a new and very comprehensive statement. Böcek confessed that, upon the instruction of Özgür Özel, he personally delivered 950,000 Euros to Ferdi Zeyrek. Additionally, Böcek admitted that, at Özgür Özel's request, he made payments totaling 1,950,000 Euros, 200,000 Dollars, and 15 million Turkish Liras during the election period.
Detained Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek gave new testimony as part of the corruption investigation into the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality.
"ÖZGÜR ÖZEL OPENLY DEMANDED MONEY"
In his testimony, Muhittin Böcek, who stated he has been mayor since 1999, said his candidacy in the 2024 local elections was deliberately kept waiting in the Party Assembly (PM) for 20 days. During this crisis, Böcek confessed that Özgür Özel openly demanded money in front of all mayoral candidates at the headquarters, saying, "The headquarters may have material and moral demands from you for the election period, please help."
1 MILLION EUROS IN ANKARA
Stating that he acted on Özel's instruction for his candidacy, Böcek said, "During the most critical days of my candidacy, I was staying at a luxury hotel in Ankara. On Özgür Özel's instruction, Veli Ağbaba called my son Mustafa Gökhan Böcek. My son went to the CHP headquarters within the day to deliver 1 million Euros in cash and handed over the money."

"We went to Manisa in my official vehicle, the Audi A8 L with license plate 07 ABB 008, and the escort vehicles behind. I took exactly 950 thousand Euros in cash in a bag. When I was alone with Ferdi Zeyrek in his office, I left the bag full of Euros next to his desk. I said, 'Let this be our contribution during the election process.' I did this on Özgür Özel's instruction, thinking it would contribute to my candidacy."
Böcek also stated that he gave money at the official candidate launch meeting held at the Antalya Cam Piramit on February 24, 2024, saying, "On Özgür Özel's instruction, Veli Ağbaba called my son again. On the day of the launch, 200 thousand Dollars in cash was personally delivered to Özgür Özel in the hall."
