Intense snowfall that was effective in Sivas for 2 days has given way to a cold wave. While the air temperature in the city was measured at minus 19 degrees, the surface of the parts of the Kızılırmak River that pass through the city center was covered with ice.
After two days of heavy snowfall in the city, a cold wave took over. In the city center, the air temperature was measured at minus 19 degrees in the morning hours.
TURKEY'S LONGEST RIVER FROZE
In the section of the Kızılırmak River, which is the longest river in Turkey at 1355 kilometers, a large part of the surface was covered with ice in the section passing through the city center of Sivas. Ice layers also formed in the areas where the water flowed calmly near the historic Eğri Bridge. Beautiful images emerged in the Kızılırmak River along with the fog that formed above it. Cold weather is expected to continue to affect the city for several days.
