The Deputy Group Chair of the DEM Party, Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, stated that the allegation of a coup against MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli did not come up during the Imralı meeting. Koçyiğit described the statements of former AK Party MP Şamil Tayyar as "manipulation," saying, "Öcalan said, 'If the process does not succeed, the coup mechanism will come into play and many groups will be targeted.' The mentioned allegation is a manipulation."
DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit made striking statements regarding the Parliamentary Commission's visit to İmralı. Koçyiğit stated that the claim that Abdullah Öcalan made remarks about a coup against MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli does not reflect the truth.
Koçyiğit described the statements of former AK Party Deputy Şamil Tayyar as "manipulation," expressing that the general framework of the meeting was different.
KOÇYİĞİT: FAILURE OF THE PROCESS TRIGGERS COUP MECHANISM
Koçyiğit emphasized that Öcalan's statements during the meeting were not as Tayyar claimed, saying, "Öcalan said, 'If the process fails, the coup mechanism will come into play and many groups will be targeted.' The mentioned claim is a manipulation."
Koçyiğit also noted that Bahçeli is in a position of responsibility in the process.

Koçyiğit stated that the influence of structures opposing the solution process should not increase, saying, "Mr. Bahçeli has been taking serious risks from the very beginning to ensure the progress of the process. MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli reacted to the claim with a statement he made to Türkgün Newspaper, expressing that he does not take the "coup" narrative against him seriously. Bahçeli stated, "They say a coup will be carried out against me from within the MHP. No coup can come from the democracy-loving Nationalist-Action Movement. All of this is fake news."
