An operation was carried out against the organized crime group known as the "Karagümrük gang" in 4 provinces centered in Istanbul. As part of the operation targeting the crime group led by Nuri Ergin, nicknamed "Nuriş," who is currently in prison, 28 suspects were apprehended.
With the instruction of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an operation was launched against the criminal organization led by Nuri Ergin, known as "Nuriş," by the Organized Crime Unit of the Istanbul Police Department.
OPERATION IN 4 PROVINCES, 28 DETENTIONS
In a simultaneous operation conducted in a total of 4 provinces, including Istanbul, Kocaeli, Izmir, and Erzincan, aimed at identifying and uncovering the activities of criminal organizations operating in Istanbul, particularly in Fatih, 28 suspects were captured and detained. During the raids, which also involved special operations teams, 3 handguns were seized from the addresses searched.
INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
The suspects captured during the operation were brought to the Istanbul Police Department for questioning. The investigation procedures regarding the suspects are ongoing.
